FAQ

What is cryotherapy?

A quick, freezing treatment (usually liquid nitrogen) that destroys unwanted skin tissue so your body sheds it over 1–3 weeks.

What can it treat?

Common warts/verrucae, skin tags, seborrhoeic keratoses, age spots (solar lentigines), some cherry angiomas and, in some cases, molluscum. We don’t treat suspicious or changing moles — we’ll refer you to your GP.

Does it hurt?

You’ll feel a sharp cold sting for a few seconds per freeze. It settles fast; a mild ache afterwards is normal.

How many sessions will I need?

Often 1–3 sessions, spaced 2–4 weeks apart, depending on size, site and type of lesion.

Is it safe for the face or sensitive areas?

Usually, yes — with careful dosing and proper counselling about pigment change. Some areas (e.g. eyelids/lips) may need an alternative or referral.
